Pupil Premium

The pupil premium is an allocation of funding provided to support specific groups of children who are vulnerable to possible underachievement in either their educational development or personal development. These include pupils who are entitled to free school meals, those looked after by the local authority, and the children of armed service personnel.

All schools are required to report on the amount of funding received and how this is being used. Once information is available, the impact of the funding is also requested.

For the academic year 2016/17 Wildground Junior School is receiving £102,840 in pupil premium funding:

Wildground Junior School is using some of this funding to allocate an experienced teacher to work 1:1 or 1:2 to accelerate learning in reading, writing and maths for specifically identified children. The same teacher will also provide specialised music teaching across the school. This year we have also created an additional class to accommodate rising numbers and enable more targeted teaching within class. Funds will also be used to pay for additional hours for teaching assistants to help with the delivery of tailored interventions for specific children. See the document link below for all the details.

For the academic year 2016/2017 Wildground Infant School is receiving £67,520 in pupil premium funding:

The Infant School is using some of this funding to pay for an additional Year 2 teacher to teach an extra class in the mornings, to provide additional teaching assistant hours for a number of targeted interventions and to improve the range of extra-curricular activities. These are just a few among many areas where the funding will be applied.

A detailed outline of how the schools have planned to allocate and spend this funding is shown in the attached documents below.
