Wildground Infant School Ofsted

Wildground Infants were inspected in June 2013, when the school was officially graded as a 'good school'. Mrs Mullett was pleased to find that the Ofsted Inspector validated all the good judgements made by the school and helped identify a small number of development areas to move the school to outstanding. The report acknowledged that:

  • Children have a successful start to school in the Reception class. They make good progress, from starting points that are often very low, and this continues throughout Years 1 and 2.

  • Pupils enjoy coming to school and behave well in lessons and around the school.

  • Pupils have many memorable learning experiences and opportunities to take responsiblilty, which prepare them well for the future.

  • Pupils who have specific learning or behavioural needs benefit from good individual guidance and support.
  • The majority of teaching is good.

  • The leadership of the headteacher and deputy is strong.

  •  Pupils leave Year 2 with average standards in reading, writing and mathematics. An increasing number are achieving above average standards..
