Learning at home (for self-isolation)

Whilst learning at home we will be posting daily updates of activity ideas onto Tapestry. They will be easy to complete at home and accessible for all children. These will be targeted at our three prime areas "Communication and Language", "Physical Development" and "Personal, Social and Emotional Development" whilst trying to incorporate a bit of Literacy, Maths, Understanding the World and Expressive Art and Design. We will also aim to continue to record some story, singing and phonics time for your children to take part in.

Please upload and and share your learning journeys with us at home. Upload these onto tapestry using the add the observation function button. Any problems with uploading or accessing your tapestry account please email or call into school. Please know that it is only us as staff that can see these observations and will not be shared. We will make sure to give feedback on these as often as possible and we just enjoy seeing all your learning at home.

Just a couple of fun ideas to try at home.

What is a PLOD?

In Early Years we use an approach to planning called PLODS (Possible Lines of Development). We start by taking the interests of the children and then think of a range of possible activities that could take place, linking them to the aspects of the EYFS curriculum. The PLODS evolve and change over time so they are always reflective of the children interests and we add PLODS if new interests emerge. The activities will be set up in the environment to help the children achieve the next step in their learning.
