A Very Busy Time In Tigers!

We have made leaps with our learning in Tigers and we have embraced the Summer term with a smile on our face and a spring in our step! Miss Callaghan, Mrs Dennett and everyone who visits Tiger Class think we are fantastic. Here are some of the things we have been doing, the learning that has taken place both inside and outside of the classroom and the work we have completed.

Numbers, Counting and all Things Mathematical!

We understand how important it is to not just count to 10 but to also really understand what each of these numbers mean. We do things every day like count our school dinners, count, share and hand out fruit and use language such as one more and one less all throughout the day. We also make show we can show each number in a range of different ways, using a different array of resources as well as talking about how we can make the numbers using other numerals and amounts.

Physical Development

As well as looking at all the healthy fruit and vegetables in Handa's Surprise we have been thinking about other things that contribute to keeping healthy and fit and develop our movement and balance. We have started our PE lessons again and a real favourite is the 'Jellybean Game' We haven't tried all of these 'beans' yet but why not ask a Tiger which ones they know?

We also make good use of all the space around us. We spend lots of time outside, climbing, building, balancing and moving in lots of different ways. Honing the skills we have learnt in PE with catching games, moving in different ways around an obstacle course we have created and playing games that link to maths and literacy. Score keeping and rule writing to name a couple!
