Music Academy
Choir
We are proud to have a fantastic choir who regularly perform at school and community events. Led by Ms Everett, our choir rehearses weekly and pupils thoroughly enjoy singing together. Our singing assemblies are always a highlight, featuring a mix of popular songs and well-loved classics that really raise the roof in both schools.
At Christmas, our choir visits local care homes to sing carols to members of the community, spreading festive cheer and joy. The choir also performs at community events and school fairs, and parents and families are invited into school for special performances. These opportunities help us strengthen links with our community while developing confidence, creativity and cultural capital for the children involved.
Music Lessons
Each week, Mr Vaughan teaches guitar, drums and piano, while Ms Everett provides flute lessons for children from Year 3 upwards. We also offer violin lessons through Hampshire Music Service.
Parents and carers are informed about music lessons via email and can register their child’s interest using Arbor. If a child is successful in securing a place, parents and carers will receive confirmation by email.
Listen to Me! – Instrument Learning for All
Hampshire Music Service works with our pupils each week to teach a range of instruments. At the end of each term, children take part in a mini concert, giving them the opportunity to showcase their learning and perform for others.
Through these lessons, children develop their understanding of music notation and rhythm, and explore a variety of instruments as part of their musical journey.
