Teachers- Mrs. Hall and Miss Everett and Mrs Parkhurst
Goodbye and thank you for the memories Avon Tyrell 2025!
Day 4 Final evening 9.15pm
So we have reached the final evening and we have played games outside. Pirates and Smugglers and Manhunt are a definite hit. The children have come in now, had a drink and biscuit and are now getting ready for bed.
This afternoon one group was in the house on 'chill time' and a few fell asleep! Final activities have been done and we are ready to come home.
We will see you at school at 12.00 onwards tomorrow.
Group 1 Day 4 Trust Walk
Day 4 9.00am update
Good morning, we had campfire last night with songs, riddles and marshmallows. All came to bed smelling of smoke but every single child had a shower this morning- yes we did check!
In room inspection yesterday I even checked toothbrushes and they all assure me they have cleaned their teeth!!
Last night all children were in bed and asleep most by 10- no-one was awake at 10.30.
All have eaten something at every meal- I have been impressed with how much they have eaten, they liked the BBQ last night too.
Today the groups have egg drop, trust walk, and challenge course- lots of team work and creativity involved in these activities. There will be a few photos today, probably this evening but in the meantime some pictures below of campfire last night.
On Friday the coach will pick us up at 10.30 and we will be back to school for 12.00. If you are able to pick up at 12.00 please do so, if not please pick up at 12.30 as per the information sheet. They are very tired, happy, but tired and will need a rest!
Day 3 update 1.00pm
Hooray it is much cooler and we are all happy. Last night all children were asleep by 10.30pm some were even asleep at 9.40pm, a few even begged us to go to bed!
Today all groups have built a raft and then sailed on it- some rafts slightly more successful than others! Pictures below.
Group 2 have also been on the high ropes and pictures are below.
All children have now been to the shop twice and spent money (mainly on food) but a few of you may be lucky to receive a present!
There is a BBQ and campfire this evening and we say thank you and goodbye to Miss Nijjer, who returns to school, and welcome Ms Everett and Mr Bambridge for the evening!
Group 1 Went orienteering this afternoon
Update for 3.00pm Tuesday and pictures of group 1
It has clouded over here and so we are getting a bit of respite from the sun. The wind has also got up and we love the breeze. Children are all well and have all eaten something at breakfast, lunch and dinner yesterday - the chocolate cookies were a definite hit! Tea tonight is roast chicken. Lots of goodies have been brought in the shop and they have money left for a second visit Thursday.
Most children have had a shower and cleaned teeth - well at least their toothbrushes are wet!!
More pictures to follow later tonight of the afternoon fun in the sun!
Avon Tyrell update 1.25pm Tuesday
Hello all
Day 1 complete with water and high rope activities. All children in bed by 9.30pm- some were definitely ready for bed! The majority asleep by 10.30 and the final few asleep by 11.00pm. All ate tea- very tasty pizza and have had a hearty cooked breakfast this morning.
Today we have Mrs Hall's group spending the morning on the lake with back to back water activities- photo below.
Mrs Venables group have been team building with the challenge course and are now visiting the shop- a source of much excitement! A slight technical issue with photos for this group as the camera lead has gone missing so we shall put up photos of this group later this evening of their afternoon activities. This group will be using the pedalos later and they can't wait to be back in the lake- nice and cool.
Miss Nijjer and Miss Reece's group have been on the tree top trail and orienteering and are now in the shop, later they will be back on the lake. Top marks for photography go to Miss Nijjer who is prolific with a camera!!
We now have some fans in our rooms for the heat - courtesy of Mrs Summers who organised some to come out on the minibus today- thank you!
Stay cool in the heat!
