Admissions (WI)

If you have a child starting school in September 2025 and wish to come and see us at work then you would be most welcome. We simply ask that you call us on 023 8084 4001 and make an appointment so we can share all that makes Wildground the Federation it is and answer any of your questions.

If your child is 4 or will turn 4 before 1st September 2025, they can start school in September 2025. Applications open for Hampshire residents on 1st November 2024. The National Closing Date for applications is Friday 15th January 2025. DON'T MISS IT!

Since September it has been an absolute pleasure to welcome all the families from across the Waterside who have wanted to look around Wildground, ahead of making a decision about where to send their child next September when they start school. We have shown round more families than ever and we are still showing families round this term and in January ahead of the deadline on 15th January.  We have always taken children from right across the Waterside making Wildground a school of choice.

So, if you haven't yet decided where to send your child, then you are welcome to visit us so we can share what makes Wildground so distinctive and special.  You are more than welcome to bring your child - so you can watch how they interact positively in our environment and play alongside our staff and children. We encourage you to ask questions and we openly invite you to come back for a further visit if it helps.  We pride ourselves on providing a personalised approach for all our parents and carers with staff being available and approachable to work in partnership with you.

So with every school offering something different, the following quotes from the infant Ofsted report (September 2023) may help in supporting you,  especially as the ‘evidence gathered suggests the inspection grade might be OUTSTANDING if a graded inspection were carried out now’.

* The curriculum offer starts with an exceptional early years setting where staff are experts in early education.

* Behaviour in lessons is excellent and pupils work hard.

* Possibilities are endless for pupils who attend this school. No child misses out on any opportunity that the school offers. All are rightly proud of the inclusive nature of the school.

* Pupils, including those with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) achieve extremely well.

* Parents love this school. One parent’s comment, typical of many, was, ‘The staff are incredibly hardworking and my child is thriving here.’

* Wildground Infants is a calm and purposeful place to learn and pupils are happy here.

* Pupils understand ‘REACH’ values of Respect, Excellence, Ambition, Care and Honesty extremely well.

* Leaders are aspirational for all pupils.

It has been shared with us that some parents hold a perception that their child won't attain as well at Wildground as other children at other schools.   WITH THIS IN MIND WE NEED TO SHARE THAT OUR SCHOOL OUTCOMES AT THE END OF YEAR R, AT THE END OF YEAR 1 IN PHONICS  AND AT THE END OF YEAR 2 IN READING, WRITING AND MATHS CONTINUE TO BE ABOVE NATIONAL DATA, INCLUDING CHILDREN ATTAINING AT A GREATER DEPTH STANDARD!  We are an excellent school where every child’s individual achievements and wider development is consistently at the heart of all we do.

So please come and visit to see and hear Wildground children enjoy and excel in their learning.  Just contact the Federation office to arrange a tour.
