DebbieSawyer

Debbie Sawyer - Chair of Governors (Co-Opted Governor)

Debbie has been a governor of Wildground Federation since 2013 and became Chair of Governors in 2018.  She has witnessed the journey the schools have been on since federating and has been an active governor on the last three Ofsted inspections.  Debbie is an involved member of the team, taking on many roles to aid and support the strategic direction of the Federation and the development of the governing body.  Debbie's child has now left Wildground Federation but she is still keen to challenge and support the Federation in maintaining high standards of progression and attainment without losing the wonderful teacher/pupil relationships that are evident across the schools.  Debbie started working in the Learning & Development industry as an IT Training Manager and Trainer Assessor in 1996. She left in 2007 to set up as a Freelance IT Trainer & Consultant. Debbie spent a couple of years working with the LPI (Learning & Performance Institute) as an Accreditation Consultant. Debbie is now Chief Smartsheet Solutions Officer working in Cloud based IT.

Hannah Mitchell - Vice Chair of Governors (Co-Opted Governor)

Hannah moved to the area in 2015 with her family and is Director of Professional Services for a world leading IT company. Hannah believes that clear direction and leadership are key to an effective school governing body and therefore a successful school. She has a proven track record of managing large teams, substantial budgets and driving through change in some challenging times and believes that this experience would be of value to the Governing Body and the school alike. 

Steve Angel - DTG (Parent Governor)

The parents of Wildground Federation have voted in Steve Angel as their representative.  Steve has lived and been a part of the local community all of his life and applied to become a Parent Governor in October 2020 following the enrolment of his eldest son in Year R. With a background in STEM and a passion for Maths and Science, Steve is keen to use the skills and experiences that he has developed through a career in both the Defence sector and Cruise industry in order to work alongside the SLT and help set the strategic direction of the schools.

Amanda Mullett - Executive Headteacher (Exec HT)

Amanda Mullett - Headteacher Governor since 2009. Amanda was appointed as Headteacher of Wildground Infant school in 2009, prior to this she had taught for 16 years across the primary phase in London, Southampton and Eastleigh. Leadership roles have included English Leader, Early Years Leader and Special Needs Co-ordinator. Following Federation of Wildground Infant and Junior schools in 2014 Amanda was appointed Executive Headteacher of Wildground Federation. Amanda has two children of her own. Amanda is passionate about the value of primary education and providing the very best for all. She also believes in the importance of children developing a love of learning that can last a lifetime.

Sean Cullen - (LA Governor (Local Authority))

Sean is a local Parish councillor, a retired teacher with 28 years experience in education (Maths, ICT and computer science). He is currently in the process of becoming a STEM ambassador. Sean has lived in Hythe for the past 14 years with his wife and family.

Ellie Morland - (Staff Governor) 

Ellie joined Wildground Federation in September 2022 as a Yr 6 teacher.  She is fully embracing all opportunities to support the children of Wildground as the Staff Link Governor.

Amelia Blake - (Co-Opted Governor)

Amelia has worked at Wildground Infant School since 2014 having finished her final teaching placement in year 2 at Wildground itself. Amelia has been supported with many opportunities to develop in her teaching profession including becoming part of the senior leadership team. Amelia has experience leading the wider curriculum, being an English Leader, being the Designated Teacher in Charge for Looked after Children and has also supported many students by taking on the role of mentor. Amelia has experience teaching in both year 1 and 2 and currently teaches Lemurs Class.  Amelia is now looking forward to supporting the Federation further by being part of the Governing Body.

Katie McAuley - (Co-Opted Governor)

Katie moved to the area in 2005 to study Physiotherapy at Southampton University after gaining a degree in Human Biology at University in Leeds.  She now works at University Hospitals Southampton, leading a team to deliver a high standard of care.  Katie has a keen interest in Science and Physical Education and plays a lot of sports herself, she feels that extra curricular activities are so important for children to find their passion and to expand their skills.  Katie is looking forward to supporting her 2 daughters and every other child's journey through her role as a governor applying her skills to ensure the standards set out within the Federation are met.

Deborah Pyne - (Co-Opted Governor)

Deb has lived in Hythe for the past 18 years and is a semi-retired freelance marketing consultant specialising in strategic and critical thinking for business brands. Deb is keen to lend her knowledge and experience to help forward the Federation’s vision and ensuring the schools maintain their outstanding quality of education. Deb is also embarking on her first crime novel and is particularly interested in the creative endeavours at the school so has elected to take on the English link as well as the Marketing link.

Jaydene Witchell - Parent Governor

The parents of Wildground Federation have voted in Jaydene Witchell as their representative.  Following a return to Hythe in 2021 and having previously attended Wildground as a child herself and along with her siblings, Jaydene is thrilled that her own children are now enrolled at the school.  She has fond memories as a pupil here, meeting inspiring teachers who instilled a passion for learning, and forming several lifelong friendships.  A Research Funding Manager at the University of Southampton and with a doctorate in molecular biology, Jaydene hopes to continue the fantastic work of the school ensuring that all Wildground pupils can access stimulating learning experiences and opportunities like those that she once enjoyed and gained so much from.

Craig Maxwell-Brown - Co-Opted Governor

The governing body are pleased to announce that Craig Maxwell-Brown has accepted a Co-Opted Governor role. Craig is a local resident who has lived in the waterside area his whole life. With two young children, he has a strong appreciation for the importance of early years education and the foundations they provide for the rest of life.

 

Working as a Head of a Software Development team within the healthcare sector, Craig is keen to apply a passion for technology, with learned skills and experiences to assist Wildground Federation with it's continued excellence.

Tina Davidson - Clerk to the Governing Body

Tina joined Wildground Federation as an Finance Assistant and we are delighted to be being supported by her joining the Governing Body as Clerk.

Deb Summers - Associate Member

Deb Summers is Head of School at Wildground Infants.  Deb attends all the Full Governing Body meetings to advise governors on all areas involving the infants school.

Lisa Mason-Hewitt - Associate Member

Lisa Mason-Hewitt is Head of School at Wildground Juniors.  Lisa attends all the Full Governing Body meetings to advise governors on all areas involving the junior school.
