Debbie Sawyer - Chair of Governors (Co-Opted Governor)

Debbie has been a governor of Wildground Federation since 2013 and became Chair of Governors in 2018.  She has witnessed the journey the schools have been on since federating and has been an active governor on the last three Ofsted inspections.  Debbie is an involved member of the team, taking on many roles to aid and support the strategic direction of the Federation and the development of the governing body.  Debbie has a child at Wildground Junior School and is keen to challenge and support the Federation in maintaining high standards of progression and attainment without losing the wonderful teacher/pupil relationships that are evident across the schools.  Debbie started working in the Learning & Development industry as an IT Training & Training Manager for a Gold Standard Accredited IT Training centre based in Totton, a position she held for 10 years. She left in 2007 to set up as a Freelance IT Trainer & Consultant. Debbie spent a couple of years working with the LPI (Learning & Performance Institute) as an Accreditation Consultant and taught Trainers how to assess other Trainers against the LPI’s TPMA model. Debbie is now a Training Manager & Consultant for Smarter Business Processes, specializing in Smartsheet.

Hannah Mitchell - Vice Chair of Governors (Co-Opted Governor)

Hannah moved to the area in 2015 with her family and is Head of Project Management for a leading IT company. Hannah believes that clear direction and leadership are key to an effective school governing body and therefore a successful school. She has a proven track record of managing large teams, budgets and driving through change in some challenging times and believes that this experience would be of value to the Governing Body and the school alike.

Paul Stevens - Training & Development Governor (DTG) (Co-Opted Governor)

Paul has joined Wildground Federation as a Co-Opted Governor. Paul has 15 years experience working in HR across various industry sectors, most recently within the Technology sector. Paul has lived in Hythe for the majority of his life and attended local schools within the area and is keen to get involved in driving the strategic direction of the school. Sitting on boards through his work life and with a focus on development of both strategy and people development we warmly welcome his skills to aid our governance.

Amanda Mullett - Executive Headteacher (Exec HT)

Amanda Mullett - Headteacher Governor since 2009. Amanda was appointed as Headteacher of Wildground Infant school in 2009, prior to this she had taught for 16 years across the primary phase in London, Southampton and Eastleigh. Following Federation of Wildground Infant and Junior schools in 2014 Amanda was appointed Executive Headteacher of Wildground Federation. Amanda has two children of her own. Amanda is passionate about the value of primary education and providing the very best for all. She also believes in the importance of children developing a love of learning that can last a lifetime.

Anneka Schofield - (Parent Governor)

Anneka Schofield lives in Hythe and has three children at the Federation. Anneka has experience in teaching and a Masters in Ecology and Environmental Biology. She currently works for the RSPB as their Schools Outreach Project Officer and at their new reserve in the New Forest, Franchises Lodge. This equips her with the skills to support the federation in keeping children safe and in to ensure that our children receive a great education. Anneka is particularly keen on forest schools activities and how this supports the curriculum and ethos of Wildground.  Anneka and her husband chose for their children to attend Wildground Federation based on the positive interactions between staff and children and the dedication of both schools in ensuring that children progress in their learning and have a positive journey during their primary school years. As an elected parent governor since Jan 2018, she hopes to support the federation so that it can become the best possible place for all our children to thrive.

Matthew Hawes - (Parent Governor)

Matthew applied to be a Parent Governor in our September 2019 parent governor recruitment campaign.  With a son, daughter and nephew all attending the school over the next few years he feels he is in a good position to listen and challenge the SLT from a parent perspective, and then using the skills he brings from working as a supervisor at Fawley Refinery, have some meaningful input to help the governing body at Wildground.

Jessica Spacagna - (Staff Governor)

Jessica is a member of staff from Wildground Federation and had been elected by her colleagues within the Federation to be the Staff Governor on the Governing Board.

Julia Stevens - (Co-Opted Governor)

Julia graduated from Winchester University in 2013 with a 1st class BA (Hons) degree in Primary Education and English. She started working at Wildground Junior School in September 2015 as a Year 3 class teacher and is now teaching Year 4, having taught year 6 for 2 years. She is also subject leader for English across the junior school. Julia is very proud to be a school governor for the Wildground Federation. She believes that the role gives her the opportunity to work closely with both staff and governors to help improve our school, to make contributions from a teacher's perspective and to learn about different aspects of school leadership.

Zoe Snow- (Co-Opted Governor)

Zoe joined the governing body in December 2019, having moved to the area  and being on the lookout for a way to support her new community. She has a background in secondary education and SEND. He has had SEN support himself during his childhood and is keen to work with schools that offer SEN support to children. Providing a different perspective, he is delighted to be joining Wildground Federation and to support the community.
